Alot of people tend to overthnk Ecommerce product images. They used the best tools, use the latest AI generation software, follow the best photo editing videos. But yet, the images still turn out crap. Why? Simply because they are lazy.
Yes. Using the best photo and video editing tool can naturally help. But taking some time to think about the product photo taking matters too. At the end of the day, buyers do not just want to know what you are selling, more importantly, they want to know what they are getting. If you’ve spent hours creating a unique brand or an item, you want to make sure you are able to show the best to your customers.
In this post, I share simple tips I use to create original product pictures of my products that i sell on our own marketplace.
Take Angled shots.
Taking a straight photo is never appealing. In fact, its boring. You want to showcase your products best side and features. If you’ve a brand, focus on the brand. If your product have some physical features, focus on those too. Take Close up shots of the product. You can hide certain parts of product. Take an eg: minion coasters by playfulpicks.

We took 2 shots of the same product. See the difference? Now. which do you think will attract buyers more? Here are the differences you get from the 2nd vs the 1st.
- Close up – 2nd shot is closer while the first shot is basically just from far.
- Feature focus – You can see that the design is almost > 50% of the entire image. This brings focus to the product itself
- We hide off some parts of the product. This kicks in consumer curiosity. Consumers will want to click in to view more of the entirety of the item itself.

Wouldn’t this look alot more eye capturing?
Photoshots are almost as important as your product. Learning to take nice photoshoots will help you attain success in your Ecommerce Sales.
