Shopee ads have been pushing for automated bidding for a very long time. This goes the same for the big players like Meta, Google and Amazon. However, here’s the thing. Automated bidding is easy for them.. not for you!
You see, when you make your ads bidding automated, you give access to big platforms to throw any types of customers to you. Literally, any.. You get customers who are searching for cheap items, competitors, customers who may not really have any need for your item to click on your ad. So what if it shows up everywhere? Is it really going to convert and if its going to bring you the ROI you truly deserves for your ads spend? No.
Well, you may thinking that its not wise to think this way because if you have the traffic, any customers can be converted. But no, thats not the case.. at least not always. If you have a uniquely strong USP and your socials have literally linked you to power full generic keywords people are looking for, this might apply to you.
A good example will be “Apple”. Its either a fruit or a phone. More highly likely when someone uses this term in search, they are looking for the phone.
If your product doesn’t command this authority, you literally have little advantage to automated bidding.
You may want to give this a try if your Shopee Ads have not been working for you
- Switch your product ads to Manual
- find relevant keywords to your products. eg: for the following product, we chose keywords such as –
- “bodyguard earpiece, wired earpiece, radiation-free earpiece” – these are the keywords people find us by
- “wired earpiece, earpiece with mic, earpiece” – high traffic keywords
- Make sure you find keywords relevant to your product. Eg: don’t put earphone if yours are not the over-head type earphones. its too big of a substitute.
- Choose a bid price that is reasonable. You want to rank higher on important search terms, so put a higher bid for closer relevant keywords
- Set keywords for Exact Matches.
I hope this guide is a little helpful tip to saving your ad costs while maximizing on your ads returns. Give your ads the little attention it deserves and see how your ads flies! Cheers!
